Camp Commander
At the age of 20, former Singapore Police Force National Service Inspector Marc Arul Weissmann has yet to face a challenge he can’t match up to.
Having completed his stint in Lodge International School in the year 2010 (having been a ‘Lodgian’ since Year 2001), completing his A-levels as well as holding key appointments in the Student Body, such as Head Prefect for the serving year 2009-2010, Marc was awarded the School’s Chairman Award in his Graduating Year.
Soon after, Marc enlisted into the Singapore Armed Forces, on the December of 2010. Having excelled in his basic training, he consisted of the top 20% of his military intake. Through further filtering, Marc was eventually selected to be trained as an Officer, holding the rank of Inspector, in the Singapore Police Force.
Having completed his National Service as a Singaporean in December 2012, Marc is currently seeking to further his studies overseas. In this short period between here and then, he is willing to spend his time and resources to impart discipline and Christian values into peoples lives.
Main Facilitator
James previously helm the Faculty of Law at a tertiary institution and his is currently a tenured lecturer at a Australian university branch campus, where he combines his passion of teaching, mentoring and ministering the youths with his academics training in law. He has extensive camp ministry experiences and has in the past 12 years ministered to the youths both locally and abroad (United States of America, Singapore and Indonesia), as well as served in various ministerial positions with several Christian organisations.
At present, James is also involves with youth works through organisations and ministries such as, among others, Focus on the Family where he facilitates the No Apologies workshops on abstinence for youths and students.
Assistant Camp Commander / Head of Security
Jackson L. Y. Sim is currently finishing up his Diploma in Business Administration with a local tertiary institution where he was the first president for Entrepreneurship club. Under his leadership, the club managed to gain profits from various activities to participate in charity events. In addition, he serves as Secretary of the student council of his institution.
Back in high school, he was the treasurer for the Christian Fellowship, vice president for tennis club and an active Red Crescent Society youth member. He is also a Sunday school teacher for his church and a speaker for the Youth Alpha programme.
Senior Operations Officers
Dylan C. Y. Chen is born and bred in
Kuching and have been serving with Boot Camp since 2011.
He is active in the youth ministry of his church and serve with the worship team with knowledge or playing the acoustic,
electric and bass guitar. He enjoys all forms of sports and doesn't mind intensive
physical training. Dylan enjoys road cycling and outdoors photography.
In addition to being an aspiring chef, Howard is a avid portrait photographer with years of experience in commercial photography under his belt.
Senior Welfare Officer
Having competed his GCE 'A' Levels with Edexcel International, Jeremy Oliver Omar of Kota Kinabalu is currently pursuing his law degree with a tertiary institution in Kuala Lumpur. This Kadazan-Chinese lad is active in sports with a black belt in karate and was a member of his secondary school's swimming club.
Jeremy started in involvement with Boot Camp in 2011 where his friendly disposition and love for culinary arts proved to be immensely popular with the campers.
Senior Programme Officer
Darren Sean Pui graduated from Lodge International School in 2010 upon the completion of his 'O' Levels. He is currently pursuing his Diploma in Business Administration with a local tertiary institution.
Darren has been a part of Boot Camp since 2010, working his way up the ranks. A talented dancer who was featured in various stage performances of Lodge Group of Schools in his schooling days, Darren brings with him his vibrant style of performing arts to add colours to the camp programme.
Junior Operations Officers
Jerry H. K. Tan, currently a Form 4
student at Lodge Secondary School, joined the team for the 2012 installment of
Boot Camp as a junior officer.
He is an
all-rounder who excels in academics as well as extra-curricular activities and
has represented Lodge in various competitions, such as the Star’s Mighty Minds,
Kuching District Public Speaking, MELTA’s Way-With-Words and was even part of
the junior champion team in the Swinburne Sarawak Inter-school Debate
Competition.
In school, Jerry is a member of the YCS, active in the Scouts
movement, a prefect, and a member of the Debate, Gavel, Softball and Magazine
clubs. Outside of school, Jerry also takes up classical singing, the clarinet
and studies music theory as well as helping out in his church’s youth ministry.
Katherine J. Y. Gumal has been a school prefect since 2012. She has been in Boot Camp since 2009 and an officer since 2012.
She has represented the school in chess competitions since 2007 and represented the division in 2009 and 2010. She won the Bronze Medal in the Commonwealth Essay competition in 2011.
Katherine played the role of 'Widow Corney' in the Lodge Group of Schools' 'Oliver!' musical in 2012.
An active debater, Katehrine participated in KIDS BP in Kuala Lumpur in July 2012. Before that, in July 2011, her team finished first runner-up in the 6th Swinburne Sarawak Inter-school Debate Championship. She participated in an international debate tournament BBPC in December 2012.
Ian Y. Tan is currently pursuing is 'A' Levels at Lodge International School after completing his 'O' Levels in 2012.
A lover of music, Ian plays the guitar, bass and drums. this avid chess player began his participation with Boot Camp in 2012. Being an active member of his church's youth group, Ian also serves in the school's Christian Fellowship.
Junior Welfare Officers
Lewis Z. Y. Ching has been a student in Lodge International since 2008. He is an active member of the Debate Club and a senior member of the Dance Club. His academic prowess has earned him the top ten spots in his class and brought him to competitions.
Lewis has participated in every Sports Day since his arrival at Lodge and catapulted Purple House's swimming team to its victory at the first ever swimming Gala held by Lodge. He is a swimmer for the Kuching Amateur Swimming Association and has represented Kuching and Sarawak Club in multiple competitions.When he is free, he reads fiction and self help books.
Patricia C. Y. Chuo, currently a form 5 student in Lodge national school has joined boot camp since 2009.
While being an average student academically she makes up in extra-curricular activities. Her various activities and responsibilities include being the president of the Leo Club of Lodge Secondary School, vice president of Lodge YCS and a member of the girl's basketball team, Gavel Club and Red Crescent Youth Unit.
Patricia describes herself as a Christian still on a spiritual journey of faith and testifies that Boot Camp has helped a lot in that.
A member of the Malaysia contingent to the First Asian Para Games, Brian C. K. Chua has been winning medals in the swimming arena for years.
Out of the swimming pool, Brian is a school prefect and an active youth member of Malaysian Red Crescent. He is also a good public speaker, an active debater and helm the school Gavel Club as its president.
He testifies that he found his faith in God at Boot Camp.

A form four student of Lodge Secondary School, Lai Eric always strive to perform.
Other than being prize-winning ballroom dancer, Eric is also keen on modern dancing and basketball. He was a member of the Lodge under-15 basketball team which won several medals in 2012.
A true sportsman at heart, Eric also has a seated passion for cycling and swimming.
Tydie T. S. Bong joined Boot Camp in 2012 and is currently a form four student of Lodge Secondary School.
A committed Christian, Tydie enjoys basketball and enjoys the outdoors. This quiet and humble lad brings with him a caring heart to the team.
